The River Club is a most delightful way to start or end your safari in refined luxury and style.

Colonial elegance and luxury Banquet-style dinners Uniquely designed river-view chalets Close to Victoria Falls Fabulous swimming pool Sundown river cruises Romantic lunches on a private island
|
This upmarket riverside Zambia lodge has a distinctly Edwardian flavour, reflected in its colonial décor and superb service.
Evening meals are the height of elegance with silver service, several courses of exceptional cuisine and fine wines. The River Club's owner or manager, play host each evening and you feel like an invited guest at a sumptuous banquet. Many a tall story is told at this table, mostly by the owner - Peter Jones - who unleashes his wicked sense of humour.
Another feature of The River Club that is most unusual, is the lack of a front wall in your chalet. Your room looks straight out towards the Zambezi with nothing but trees and bushes to impair your view. Both the large enticing bed and free-standing bathtub have direct views of the river.
The raging Victoria Falls are just 18 kilometres (11 miles) downstream of The River Club and daily excursions take you to this spectacle. There are also visits to local villages and the nearby small Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park where a variety of animals can be seen including the only Rhino in Zambia.
