The Leopard is sometimes confused with the South American Jaguar, but it is not as stocky as the jaguar and unlike its South American sister its rosette markings are generally smaller and have no internal spots.

Lion cubs are born after a gestation
period of 14 to 15 weeks. They are born in well-hidden lairs, carefully selected by their mother, and only join the pride after about five weeks.
